This page is a bit of a tease, really; all apologies!
Please weigh in on this if you haven't already!
It's that time again! Book 8 is nearing its end, after which I need awhile to regroup for mighty #9 ... and start pulling together a Kickstarter for NTO Volume 2! As I did with Genevieve once upon a time, I aim to accomplish this running a less time-consuming interim comic. Genevieve was a full 24 pages though; this will probably (hopefully?) be an 8-12 page short. It occurred to me I could possibly run the early pages of the Patron-only Cutter & Ironwood, but I've ultimately decided to keep that reserved for Patrons for now. So, let me know!
7/17 EDIT: We've picked a winner! Congratulations @
Guys! I'm giving away a free copy of Poor Wayfaring Strangers to one lucky reader! All you have to do is follow me on Twitter (@squidbunny) and RT this tweet between now and 7/17/16 for a chance to win!
No purchase necessary. Must be a US resident to win.
If you don't follow me on Twitter or Patreon you may have missed this week's saga, which is mostly scope creep on a bathroom tearout (rotten subfloor, cracked lead drain pipes & more!) and the tablet I've had for 8 years finally kicking the bucket Friday night. Replacement tablet's on the way (and yesterday I rigged a sort of silly stopgap), but I put this week's comic off until the last second -- said Friday night (due to bathroom, finally getting PWS files to the printer, etc..) and the tablet situation sunk me. No page this week (generous Patrons got a page of their exclusive story I've been saving for just such an occasion, though) -- which is super sad because a PWS superbacker was going to make their NTO debut in this one!
Next Town Over fans have done a ton of the heavy lifting on this Kickstarter. I have noticed, and deeply appreciate. You guys are the best. You've gotten us (oh good grief I have to say it....) OVER 9000!!! We're at 72%! If our remaining days are all as good as yesterday we can still smash our goal! If you haven't pledged yet, I still have some specialty tiers available, including one remaining artist's edition, an NTO cameo (!!!!) and a full color painted illustration commission.
There's also one more way you can help: pledge to participate in a last-minute Thunderclap to get the word out Saturday morning about the last day of the PWS Kickstarter! Share, share, share, but most importantly, don't forget to visit the link yourself and hit all those shiny buttons for Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr! Thunderclap can greatly amplify our message when we'll need it most!

My very good friend and PWS collaborator Jon Cairns, creator of Alpha Flag, which I know many of you read, recently wrote this essay about his short in the anthology. Give it a read if you haven't, and if you haven't backed or shared the project, please consider doing that as well. I'm recommitting myself to doing everything I can to get more voices in comics, and this inclusive, genre-bending anthology is part of that. It's in its homestretch: I'd be very much obliged if you could do anything in your power to help me make it happen.
