We live in an age and a country with a health system responsive enough to make sure epidemics like this don’t spread, and for that I am extremely grateful.
I’ll drink to that.
As shall I. Here’s to responsive health care systems ole chaps.
makes me glad of the era we are living right now.
i haven`t read a comic that reminds me how lucky we are in the “first world“…
Except on the occasion where they do. H1N1, the common cold, etc.
That final panel is heartbreaking… his face is so hurt and sad. It’s a totally different side of him.
Last panel, indeed a look of concern and perhaps sorrow. Maybe Mr. Hunter is remembering a little boy he once knew. Very enigmatic is this story. Squidbunny, PLEASE, where the hell are we???
It’s interesting seeing an emotion other than smugness or anger on Hunter’s face, this keeps getting more and more interesting!
When an author can make an otherwise somewhat dubiously sympathetic character surprise you, and enjoy the surprise, that’s an author to salute–Erin(Squidbunny), I salute you!! RAH RAH RAH!!
Maybe Hunter ain’t a good man but considering his past actions and the empathy on his face in the last panel, I’m sure now he ain’t an evil man either.
Even if he is a “villain” he’s showing that yes, he has standards. The look of empathy says novels more than anything he could say verbally. Excellent stroke of writing. Even the demon cries for the innocent.
I know it’s nothing new, but the watercolor overlay really compliments the atmosphere of Wayward nicely. 🙂
Called it on the evasion of the scar question 🙂 But now I want to know if he’s going to turn all goody deedy and help with the sickness somehow!
yes, that child is about to become an immortal cyberpunk badass, at the low, low cost of his immortal soul.
Could it be the total bad ass has a heart?
I’m really getting interested in the backstory between the main characters. From what I’m picking up, Vane fixed Hunter after he was paralyzed at an earlier point in time and possibly is the reason why he is so damn hard to kill. Later on, Vane died somehow (possibly of the fever?) and Hunter pulled some sort of voodoo resurrection thing on her that turned her into the undead thing that has been chasing him for the story shown.
He’s a person, too!
