Ooooh wonder what she’s gonna ask the blacksmith.
Holy crap, was I actually right about her making a cogborg outta Diamond?
I’m just glad it didn’t go the way of Old Yeller <3
I love how the blacksmith shot is lit. I’v always wanted to learn how but it’s not exactly the easiest thing to find -_-
The light leaking between the boards is a nice touch.
Thanks, fellas. 🙂
Isn’t it bad luck to have horseshoes hanging like that? Even in a blacksmith shop?
No, that’s fine. It’s over the doorway that’s good or badluck. Just on the wall is more for display.
At least it wasn’t the butcher 🙂
Oooo, cyber-Diamond! Gentlemen, we can build her better, faster, stronger! I just hope it doesn’t hurt. Also, just for future reference, Vane shouldn’t be riding with her calf underneath the tug/trace, it’s gonna cut off her circulation (provided she has any). Love the way the nails in the board wall of the blacksmith’s shop have have made small cracks as the structure weathered, just like in real life.
Thank you kindly, duder. 😀 Right on about Vane’s leg — was a coloring flub that got missed and is sadly now in the print version. *sigh*
(Also, just for future reference, Diamonds is male — in fact if you creepily scrutinize pages like 13, where you can see his underside, he’s even vaguely anatomically correct.)
While we’re talking about details we like: how those nail marks on the inside match the boards outside.
JeSuisUnbauer – look for historical reenactment groups. We have a local State Park that includes an old ranch with a smithy in it. One of the people in my chorus does smithwork there as a volunteer.
You, sir, sound like an interestin man.
Have just discovered this comic. I am captivated by your vision. Such a detailed and beautiful world. Thank you.
